Description
The TransGo TFOD-Diesel Shift Kit fits 1988–2003 Dodge, Ram and Jeep vehicles equipped with A518, 46RH, 46RE, A618, 47RH and 47RE four-speed automatic transmissions with gas or diesel engines. This kit does not fit 48RE transmissions or 2003 Dodge trucks with an eighth VIN digit of “C.”
This kit includes valve body and internal components designed to increase operating pressure and improve transmission durability. Maximum line pressure can be set to approximately 125 PSI in first, second and third gears, and up to 150 PSI in fourth gear or torque converter lockup. The increased pressure improves the holding capacity of the transmission’s friction elements, including the torque converter clutch, while retaining factory-style shift timing.
The kit also improves converter charge, helps reduce operating temperature and addresses delayed engagement caused by torque converter drainback. It can be installed with the transmission in the vehicle, while the included internal sealing rings can be used when the transmission is removed for overhaul.
