Description
The TransGo TFRE-PRO Reprogramming Kit fits 1995 and newer Dodge and Ram vehicles equipped with 46RE, 47RE and 48RE automatic transmissions. It does not fit 1995-style valve bodies without the 3/16-inch checkball in the lower channel casting.
This kit is designed for aggressive street and performance applications with increased engine power. It includes valve body, servo and internal components calibrated for higher operating pressure in all forward gears. With maximum line pressure set to approximately 185 PSI, the kit can significantly increase the holding capacity of the clutch elements and torque converter clutch while retaining factory-style shift timing.
The patent-pending triple separator plate allows torque converter clutch operation in first through fourth gear on 46RE and 47RE-style valve bodies. Additional electronic control of the TCC solenoid is required for lockup operation in the lower gears and is not included.
The kit also improves converter charge, direct clutch feed and band release flow. Additional components address converter drainback, difficult Park disengagement, delayed pressure response and 2–3 shift overlap. This kit can be installed with the transmission in the vehicle, while the included internal sealing rings can be used when the transmission is removed for overhaul.
